NARC along with the Woodstock Environmental Commission initiated a public recycling program throughout the village, which has been maintained for almost 10 years now and serves as a model for public recycling in smaller communities. The project has to two components first to recover & recycle material from the general waste stream and the other is to educate the public on their need to recycle all materials regardless of whether they are at home, in the office or in any public space within the state. The public waste receptacle is not a safe haven from the responsibility that is mandated by NYS law. For any recyclable container you purchase, common sense rules, you bought it you own it, recycle it. Let's all take responsibility for our actions.
Use less plastic whenever possible, reject plastic bags whenever possible, be a better citizen whenever possible.
